Lost in one of the most idyllic narrow little streets of Mykonos city, La maison de Katrin restaurant Mykonos is a pleasant surprise. It is a family business established in 1971 by the Griziotis family. It has not been promoted much – as most restaurants in mykonos Greece have – and visitors are basically local or faithful fans from all over the world who continue returning to taste the superb, traditional French dishes.
La maison de Katrin restaurant Mykonos is a boutique restaurant with a total of 20 tables indoor and outdoor that can host up to 80 guests. The interior looks like an old, wealthy house of past centuries, with aged paintings and collectibles, traditional Cycladic curves and plenty of space. White stone is everywhere, from the walls to the roof. There are just six outside tables, shaded by a colossal red bougainvillea and overlooking the narrow alley and its whitewashed Cycladic houses. You must make an early reservation, particularly for the outside tables.
Traditional French and Greek meals with a modern touch are included in La maison de Katrin restaurant Mykonos’ menu. All dishes are served in a beautiful gourmet way and the materials used are fresh and local: organic fruits and vegetables, Aegean fish and seafood, meat form nearby producers and, of course, extra virgin olive oil. There are a lot of great dishes to try, such as the zucchini flowers stuffed with rice and nuts and the mussels in lemon sauce. Tarte-Tatin with calvados cream is probably the best dessert.
