There is an ideal place on the island of Mykonos to enjoy gourmet Italian flavors accompanied by excellent wine from all over the world: it’s called Sale & Pepe Mykonos.
Sale & Pepe Mykonos was created by Ivan Ottaviani 26 years ago and is located in Laka Square, in the heart of Mykonos town. Three years later and after the great success of his first restaurant in Mykonos, Ivan Ottaviani opened a second one under the same brand name in Kolonaki, Athens.
The strongest advantage of Sale & Pepe Mykonos is not its delightful Italian dishes but the award-winning wine and champagne cellar with 1,500 different labels, with the main characteristics of wine quality and collectivity, the representation of all the wine-producing regions of the world and the rarity of the bottles included in its collection. Its wine list is one of the best in the world and is awarded for 17 consecutive years by the specialized American Wine Spectator. Among the many more distinctions it has won, are “The First Scoop” in 1996 for the best wine list and “The best Greek Sommelier” at the First Panhellenic Wine Competition in 1998.
The large, inviting tables of the Sale & Pepe Mykonos are set in a beautiful, protected Cycladic-style courtyard. The decoration brings in mind an Italian trattoria but includes all the elements of traditional Greek island architecture, such as white colors, wood and stone.
Sale & Pepe Mykonos cuisine is inspired by Northern Italian recipes and includes handmade pasta, fresh local fish and seafood, selected meats and delicious appetizers and desserts. Try the Strozzapreti with shrimps, zucchini and light basil sauce.
